ARTIST STATEMENT:
I create films, paintings, and murals about pressure, identity, and the working-class experience.
My work focuses on people trying to hold onto control as their world starts closing in around them — grounded in emotional realism, tension, and consequence.
The ARTIST:
Carlos Flores Jr. is a Bay Area-born artist currently based in Dallas, TX. Entirely self-taught, his creative path has grown through years of painting, traveling, working, and constantly experimenting across different mediums.
His work has been recognized through juried exhibitions and awards in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington D.C., and Denver, and he has been invited to participate in multiple group shows alongside both emerging and established artists. Influenced by personal memory, everyday life, and the environments that shaped him, Carlos approaches each project with curiosity, intensity, and a commitment to continuous growth.
